What Life With Two Boys Is Like

Sometimes people are surprised that we are done having kids. The idea that we might try for a girl is a common one. Brian and I, on the other hand, are quite happy with having two boys. I come from a family of all girls, so I’m happy to let the universe balance itself out a little.

Our lives are filled with stereotypically ”boyish” things like cars, bugs, monsters, computer games, The Hobbit, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, and wrestling matches.

Our lives are filled with stereotypically “girly” things like baby dolls, tea parties, housekeeping, cooking, sleepovers, musicals, gardening, dancing, The Princess Bride, and My Fair Lady.

Our lives are filled with story time, cartoons, science experiments, board games, coloring, and running.

Our lives are filled with whispered secrets, hugs and kisses, cuddles and laughter.

Our lives are filled. Our lives are full.

  1. Love this. It’s like you guys are us, in another dimension….or just another state LOL

    • I like the other dimension idea. As long as we all still get to meet someday :)

  2. With all boys in the family, you get to be the queen.
I grew up with all girls in the family as well, except for my dad of course. :)

    • That’s very true! And I don’t mind it at all.
